About the Interpreter

Considered a global citizen, our interpreter Samantha Romero (@sammyestrada) has called various places home throughout her journey. She began her path in Scotland, later living in the United States and Peru before settling in Brazil. Currently, she leads a life that constantly alternates between São Paulo and Lisbon.

A member of AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters) and APIC (Professional Association of Conference Interpreters), Samantha has studied Tourism, Simultaneous Interpretation, and took up Mathematics in college for two years. This diverse academic background, combined with her natural curiosity and passion for learning, allows her to effortlessly navigate between technical subjects and the humanities. She is a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. With a global mindset, she stands out for her ability to interpret a wide range of subjects, from finance and agronomy to engineering and governmental affairs. Her passion for connecting cultures and facilitating communication is reflected in her work as an interpreter at global events, where she builds bridges between different spheres and promotes intercultural understanding.
